- Check the Account Health section under "Suspected Intellectual Property Violations" to see what words are triggering the trademark misuse.
- If information is not available, request to speak with the Catalog Captive Team.
- Ask rep to check what words are triggering the trademark misuse:
- CASE 1: Random words are incorrectly triggering the trademark misuse rather than the actual brand names (e.g. A Marvel product with the word "Infinity" in the title or a Funstuff product with the word "Panda" in the title).
- Solution: Ask rep to request permission to remove the restrictions on the spot (they can request permission from their supervisor)
- CASE 2: Amazon's anti-counterfeiting software is erroneously attempting to protect the sub-brand (e.g. A Warner Bros. product with the word(s) "Batman" or "Suicide Squad" in the title. Here the system doesn't recognize that Warner Bros. is the parent brand and "Batman/Suicide Squad" is the sub-brand).
- Solution A (Preferred): Refer to Solution A in the guide: Intellectual Property Violations
- Solution B: Provide rep with proof and request to have the restrictions removed. The rep should then send a form to the brand protection team requesting that they manually review all of the ASINs for reinstatement.
- If pushback, keep explaining that you are an official licensee and that you are willing to provide proof to this (Wiki)
- CASE 1: Random words are incorrectly triggering the trademark misuse rather than the actual brand names (e.g. A Marvel product with the word "Infinity" in the title or a Funstuff product with the word "Panda" in the title).
