Background: An inactive ASIN (different than Inactive- out of stock) cannot be merged. There is no workaround for this. However, you can manipulate the system to make both ASINs active, un-strand the inventory, and then merge the duplicate ASINs. The steps for this are as follows:

Step 1: Confirm that the item in manage inventory and in stranded inventory has the exact same sku AND fn sku. Also confirm through the tracker PO/Packing section that an Amazon FN Sku barcode was used. If not, this solution is not applicable.

Step 2: Delete the SKU with the inventory-less ASIN in Manage Inventory.

Step 3: Wait 24 hours for system to purge the tie between the inventory-less ASIN and the proper sku.

Step 4: In the meantime, while waiting, create a dummy, MERCHANT-FULFILLED sku based on the original. The SKU Format should be: [original sku] - "FNK" + "DUMMY" (example: 075915WAM5TFNK becomes 075915WAM5TDUMMY). Use the UPC to upload.

Note: Easiest way to complete this step is to export the FBA dash 2 file, delete the skus you don’t need, change FBA/FNK to dummy in sku, command F “Fulfillment”, and clear out the data from that section, ESPECIALLY Fulfillment Center ID. Then upload.

Step 5: After 24 hours have passed, create a new listing for the Stranded inventory using the ASIN that the stranded inventory is tied to.

Step 6: Once that listing is active, you can request that the ASINs be merged through the Merge Duplicate Products tool. You must keep the ASIN that has the inventory, correct SKU and correct FN Sku.

Note: If the dummy, merchant-fulfilled ASIN shows as inactive, you may have to quickly change the stock to “1” to activate.

POSSIBLE Step 7: If the tool still does not let you merge the two active ASINS, a case will be created for an Amazon Seller Support rep to review. As long as both ASINs are active, this should not be a problem and through the case a rep should be able to manually merge the ASINs.

Note: This may be different for registered brands. Solution forthcoming.

Step 8: Confirm the new, merged listing has the correct data and is now FBA.
