BACKGROUND


1. You receive a Processing Report with Error Code:


5461: ACCOUNT is not approved for brand

8572: UPC PREFIX is not white-listed for brand


2. To resolve, you need to request to have the brand approved or the UPC Prefix white-listed. This is accomplished by proving that you are authorized to sell products under the said Brand Name or UPC Prefix.

  • The first step is to reach out to Amazon with a screenshot of the Processing Report mentioning Error Code 5461 / 8572 with the relevant Batch ID #

           Note: Amazon uses the Batch ID # to pull up the feed file

  • Amazon will require proof based on the info that was submitted in the feed file. The primary forms of proof are a Legal Agreement, GS1 Certificate and product images displaying the branding and product ID.
    • Legal Agreement: Proves affiliation between the brand owner and UPC owner.
    • GS1 Certificate: Proves authenticity of the UPC prefix.
    • Product Images: Proves that you own products with the said brand and UPC prefix.


REPORTING


When you experience a 5461 or 8572 Error Code, please follow the steps below:

  1. Delete drafts
    • SellerCentral > Catalog > Complete Your Drafts > Action: Delete product and listing
  2. Create dummy listing (see wiki below)
    • Location: OneDrive > IMAGIKIDS > Licensing > Brand Approval Template
    • Note: If there is a dummy listing already present, please move to archive and highlight in orange
  3. Upload to Amazon
    • Note: Be sure to input your email to receive the Processing Report
  4. Confirm Error Code
    • Open the processing report email and confirm that you received Error Code 5461 / 8572. If you receive Error Code 8541, please repeat Steps 1-3.
  5. Update Google Sheets > Case Log
  6. Take screenshot of Processing Report with timestamp included, name the file as Batch_ID_[#], and upload to:
    • OneDrive > IMAGIKIDS > Licensing > Photo Proof
  7. Send a message on Microsoft Teams to alert the team (mark as Important):
    • 5461: I received Error Code 5461 for the brand ["BRAND"] on [ACCOUNT]. Google Sheets updated.
    • 8572: I received Error Code 8572 for the brand ["BRAND"] with UPC Prefix [#]. Google Sheets updated.


DUMMY LISTING WIKI

  1. Feed Product Type
    • shirt: t-shirt
    • leotard: bodysuit
  2. Item SKU
    • Example: 0X0000XX
      • 0 = Year (e.g. 0 = 2020, 1 = 2021)
      • X = Category (e.g. T = T-shirt, C = Creeper)
      • 0000 = Style # (e.g. 2310 = Marvel 5pk creepers)
      • XX = Brand Code (e.g. CM = Marvel)
  3. Brand Name
    • Case Sensitive - must be spelled exactly as intended
  4. Product ID
    • Get Dummy UPC
      • "Brand Approval Template" > Available UPCs tab > Take and unused UPC from the list > Use in dummy listing Product ID field > Mark as used
        • Note: Confirm once again in Processing Report that UPC is not in use
  5. Item Type Keyword
    • Tees: fashion-t-shirts
    • Bodysuits: infant-and-toddler-bodysuits
  6. Manufacturer
    • Bentex Group, Inc. = 024054 UPC Prefix
    • H.I.S. International = 193058 UPC Prefix
    • DreamWave LLC = 194748 UPC Prefix
      • Note: Manufacturer can be confirmed on relevant Tracker Site
